Great Spangled Fritillary

I had the pleasure of photographing this awesome Great Spangled Fritillary butterfly in June while camping at Kentuck Campground which is located near Ohiopyle, PA which is located along the Great Allegheny Passage.

He flirted with me for a while, but finally I got some great close up photos of him.

When we completed our “photo session”, I put my hand down to him and asked if I could hold him.

Within seconds he was on my finger!   Unfortunately, I don’t have the “once in a lifetime” photo of this.

Next time I will!
